I Can Has Cheezburger - one of my favorite sites - has hosted a few marriage proposals in the past few years. On Valentines Day in 2008 they ran a series of LOLcat images so Jon could pop the question to Loretta.

I Yabba Dabba Do

For their special day, two Norfolk couples decided to turn to the Stone Age for inspiration and recreated the children's cartoon show The Flintstones by dressing up its main characters.

Penguin + Wedding + Napkins = Awesome

It's hard to read, but it says "We Do" on the top!!! The groom is sporting a black tie and the bride is carrying 2 roses.

LOVE it!

What a Great Idea

I think at some point every bride comes up across this question: how do we honor our family and friends who passed away before our wedding day?

Here is an idea featured on Style Me Pretty: the couple honored her late father during the reception by serving his favorite cigars and including a simple sign and photo.

Jackpot!

Yes; a way to include martinis in our wedding day (and still remember it)!

Okay, so I know the idea of serving a small course in a martini glass is nothing new, but for a gal know for her signature drink (dirty martini) this would be soooo cute! Extra points if the course can involve olives...

Hi-Larious

Afraid you'll forget your anniversary? Or perhaps that your soon-to-be spouse will? Worry no longer!

I give you: The Remember Ring. About 24 hours before your special day begins, a "hot spot" on the ring's interior will begin to warm up, reaching 120ยบ F for approximately 10 seconds. And in case that doesn't work, the ring will continue to warm up every hour, on the hour, all day long!

The projected price, should this ever actually be crafted (its in design stage at the moment) is $760. Burn cream extra.

I Also Love the Duckies

The Frenchie and I just spent out third Valentine's together and, as has become tradition, it involved sushi.

So, in that vein, please enjoy this sushi wedding cake:

According to the designer, the bulk of this "cake" is apparently made up of sushi rice (sturdy enough to form stable rounds). Regular cake pans were used for molds onto which was added huge quantities of salmon, yellowtail and ahi, each placed carefully in the bottom of each cake pan.

You can see a recipe for the cake along with the photos of the finished product here.

Found on SlashFood.

Lanterns...

I love the idea of having lanterns at our wedding. We'll be outside for part of the reception, overlooking the mountains and no other lighting source fits in quite so well as camp lanterns:

This shot is from Paul Westlake via Brides.com and I just love it!

Hmmmm... wonder how high of a fire risk that would be...?

Okay, I'm Gonna Throw This Out There

Because I saw it today:

So I'm not nearly as obsessed with the Girls Next Doors as I once was (back when the only cable channel I had was E). Nonetheless... Miss September Necklace anyone?

Also:

I kinda love the martini glasses. Mind you, martinis are not allowed to figure prominently in my wedding day (so I can remember it) but I feel they will be at least somewhat involved in the bachelorette.

Just a thought.

Both available at the Bunny Store.

Mmmmm... Cupcakes

In keeping with the dessert theme:

Courtesy of New York Wedding Guide, you just have to love this picture:

I don't know why, but I find the mini bride and groom hysterical. You can find these at sugarcraft.com.

Good times.

Save the Dates...?

Still waiting for the guest list to receive the Save the Dates. Thanks to some Upstate New York elves I did not have to spend a week of my vacation assembling, addressing and stamping them all. Of course I have not shown them to anyone (save the Frenchie) and am just dying to hear what people think.

In the meantime, enjoy some Italian Wedding Cookies on Sopressata.

Ah, Well

Apparently there is a wedding dress called martini:

It's by Ian Stuart and you can see more about it here. Sure, it's not my style, but that's a great name...
